Draba cuneifolia Torrey & A. Gray var. cuneifolia, wedge–leaf draba, wedge–leaf whitlow–grass. Annual, short–lived, taprooted, rosetted, 1—several–stemmed at base, with a few branches, ascending to erect, in range 7—17 cm tall; shoots slender with several basal leaves and also cauline leaves, hirsute, the hairs on various parts unbranched, or unbranched mixed with branched and short–stalked having 2—4 spreading to ascending arms.
Stems cylindric, < 1 mm diameter, densely hirsute with mostly unbranched hairs to 1.4 mm long and much shorter, stalked, branched hairs.
Leaves helically alternate, simple, short–petiolate to sessile, without stipules; petiole< 3 mm long, indistinct from blade; blade oblanceolate to narrowly obovate or elliptic, 3—39 × 2—12 mm, coarsely toothed, especially above midblade, broadly acute to rounded at tip lacking whitish point, pinnately veined with midrib raised on lower surface, dull, with evenly scattered, mostly stalked, branched hairs on both surfaces
Inflorescence raceme, terminal, many–flowered, with open flowers overtopping buds, lacking bracts, densely hirsute with mixed long unbranched and shorter branched hairs; axis stemlike, green; pedicel slender, at anthesis erect and 1.5—2.5 mm long spreading and increasing 2× in fruit.
Flower bisexual, radial, ca. 2 mm across; sepals 4, erect, equal, elliptic to lanceolate or oblanceolate, ± 2 mm long, with raised center green and having narrow white margins and at tip, with most ascending unbranched hairs on center, deciduous; petals 4, erect, oblanceolate, ca. 2 mm long, white, rounded at tip, glabrous; stamens 6, free, dimorphic, with 2 outer short and 4 inner slightly longer; filaments gradually tapered to tip, to 1.7 mm long, of outer stamens 0.3—0.4 mm shorter, whitish; anthers basifixed, dithecal, 0.3—0.35 mm long, light yellow, longitudinally dehiscent; pollen light yellow; nectaries 4, minute; pistil 1, to 2 mm long; ovary superior, ellipsoid, ca. 1 mm wide, green or tinged reddish, densely puberulent with unbranched hairs, 2–chambered, each chamber with many ovules; style ± 0.2 mm long; stigma capitate.
Fruit siliqua, dehiscent by 2 valves parallel to septum, to 60–seeded, ± elliptic in outline, mostly 7—8 × 3.3—3.5 mm, slightly inflated, densely short–hirsute with unbranched hairs, seeds in 2 rows on each side of septum; beak < 0.2 mm long.
Seedoval–lenticular, 0.7 × 0.45—0.55 mm, orangish brown, conspicuously bladderlike, with a minute swelling at hilum.
